I started a Substack. I’d love for you to join me on my journey through flow!

Here is my first post. For now, I’m planning to post bi-weekly with downloads for paid subscribers.

Welcome and thank you for being here. If you were in front of me, I’d give you a long, warm hug.

My word for 2025 is FLOW. In my family, we choose a focus word each year and share them for inspiration and accountability. Each word acts as a compass, guiding us as we make decisions and choose where to put our energies. Everything I do passes through the filter of my word of the year; do my thoughts, behaviors, and actions help or hinder the pursuit of flow?

Flow has a few meanings for me as a goal. The simplest is to go with the flow more. I’m stubborn. Very stubborn. I draw hard lines about some topics and won’t cross them, even if it’s to my detriment. So, for my own sanity and that of my family’s, I need to go with the flow more often than I do. Let’s just say it’s a work in progress.

The other meaning of flow for me is the flow state, that magical realm where you lose yourself and time passes in strange ways during an activity. Flow makes me feel alive and infuses my goals with deeper meaning. My intention is to get into the flow state with my writing on a regular basis. I want more of the productivity that comes from being immersed. I crave the ecstasy, a feeling of joy and purpose, when I write in flow state. Some days it feels elusive, but I’ve been there before, and I know I can get back.

So, I’ve been doing a deep dive on how to get into the flow state. I’m down in the rabbit hole, learning the neuroscience, the spiritual, the practical and logistical. I’m all in, from all angles, and I only want to know more.

My objective for this Substack newsletter is to provide you with information and inspiration about flow. Together, we can explore and experiment with the tools to get us there. It’s going to be magical.

If you want to write more words, better words, and have more joy doing it, then join me on this journey into the world of flow. I invite you to flow with me. Are you ready?

Next week, we’ll look at what flow state is so you can determine if you’ve been there and if you want to get back there (spoiler alert–of course, you do). In the meantime, I would love to hear what you want to learn more about regarding the flow state so I know what to bring back for you out of the depths of the rabbit hole.

Until next week,

Kelli
